Fatal Charades

In Vienna, Chief Inspector Oskar Schmidt, once a Hauptmann in the Imperial Austro-Hungarian military intelligence, is called to a house where a man has been murdered by his gay lover, Philip Beck, an art forger, blackmailer, male prostitute, pornographer and career criminal. As Oskar investigates, he discovers that Beck was once an associate of Adolf Hitler's at the Meldemannstrasse flophouse in Vienna during Hitler's youthful wilderness years, and soon discovers that Hitler has a police record. But when he finds that it's missing, he has to wonder: Who has it? - and - What's in it? Oskar is determined to find out and it's not long before he discovers that the dossier was removed by a Major Burgamann of the Austrian Secret Police, who has himself been murdered, but Burgamann sent his trusted secretary with the Hitler Dossier to France...

Oskar meets with his Max von Wallenberg of the Abwehr, and he tells him his interesting story about the mysterious Hitler Dossier, and the suspicious death of Major Burgamann. Max sees an opportunity to discredit Hitler and destroy the Nazis, and he isn't going to waste it...

There's no time for breaking in the promising new Abwehr leutnant, Karl Grabner, when it's discovered the Dossier is in Munich, in the hands of an industrial spy and professional blackmailer, Markus Wolff, and hidden in a boarding house owned by the eccentric lesbian opera singer, Fräulein George in the room of one of her eclectic mix of artistic male tenants. Karl, who harbours a secret of his own is the perfect candidate to infiltrate this house of Sodom to find and recover the dossier.

The Nazis are just a step behind the Abwehr, and Schreck has dispatched his ruthless killer, Bruno Metz to find the dossier and kill everyone who knows anything about it, and so begins a bloody life and death pursuit through Bavaria...
