Born and raised in Nigeria, an only girl with seven brothers, Judith lost her mother at the vulnerable age of seven and became a victim of abuse at her fathers hands. Tormented and trapped by this secret in Nigeria for almost two decades, she emigrated to Ireland. It was there she felt secure and found the courage to confront this secret.

In ‘Not In Chains’ Judith Nwaokolo tells it how it was and explains how victims suffer from the effects of childhood sexual abuse on their journey into adulthood. She uses her faith and practical skills to show the path forward for anyone affected by abuse or any other pain and hurt. This book is also Judith’s journey from the dark religion of her upbringing to when she finally broke free from that religious conviction that indoctrinated her at a young age to shun the church and its teachings.
