A broken love affair in Mexico sends Anna to Prague to shake off her obsession with Antonio and continue her life as a painter. But when she arrives it becomes clear that she can do neither. Her future becomes uncertain when she takes a job as an English teacher and stops painting altogether. Lessons with her Czech students send her into a world of sexual fantasies, although she remains under the spell of Antonio. At her window overlooking the Vltava River, the tale of Antonio comes to the surface. Teetering between two worlds, she searches for meaning within the darkness of post-communist Prague.
