La 29e Division Americaine en Normandie

The 29th U.S. Infantry Division is one of three large units selected for the first wave of the Normandy invasion on 6 June 1944. Drawn from research compiled from veterans’ testimonies, notebooks, and daily journals, the author recounts this epic history from the terrible storming of Omaha beach, to the Battles of St Lô and Vire, delivered against a determined adversary, while taking advantage of the defensive character of the Normandy farmland.
