Dans l'ombre de la capitale: Les petites villes sur l'eau et Paris au XVe siecle

While it is unquestionably true that Paris dominated the small outlying towns at the end of the Middle Ages, they were not wholly subject to its institutions and inhabitants. This work shows that in many respects the surrounding towns maintained a relationship of interdependence with the capital.
