Tempetes en mer: Permanence et evolution d'un topos litteraire (XVIe-XVIIIe siecle)

This study considers accounts of storms at sea in narrative texts from the sixteenth to the eighteenth century. It shows that they possess exceptional literary qualities and depth, inviting interrogation at the aesthetic, ethical, and philosophical level.
