Voix intimes, voix sociales: Usages du monologue romanesque aujourd'hui

This book studies the radical reworking of the interior monologue in the French novel from the 1980s onwards. After setting out a history of the form and of the imaginative life of interior discourse from the end of the nineteenth century, it examines the tension between the personal and the social that features in contemporary monologues.
