Sigismund von Neukomm - Biography - The forgotten student of Haydn

Sigismund von Neukomm, who was born in Salzburg in 1778 and died in Paris in 1858, was one of the biggest names on the international music scene in his time. He was a superstar of his time as a composer, conductor, and musician.
More than 150 years after his death, his name is known only to a handful of experts and enthusiasts.

"The Sigismund von Neukomm Project" has set out to change this, and, with this short biography of the artist, offers the first contribution to the rediscovery of the composer, who in his time set new standards with his works, which include some two thousand titles and performances with over a thousand musicians and singers.
