The papers in this volume address a subject that is relevant, based not only on present-day psychological and neurological insights but also on a multitude of new interpretations in cultural studies and the humanities. They present a hitherto unique overview of the current discussion of emotion in the arts which transcends both disciplinary boundaries and the boundary between theory and practice.
