The new German fee system for psychiatry and psychosomatics was introduced in 2010 in a law on hospital finance. In-patient treatments are now coded using surgical and procedural codes. Driven by the need to introduce the new charging system in their own hospital with neither examples nor software, the authors developed their own ideas, training courses and tools. This book is aimed primarily at users but also contributes discussion material for those involved in medical management accounting and coding. It is oriented towards doctors' daily work routines and explains to the reader how to understand the new fee system and how to record and code treatments.
