For the first time, this volume presents a systematic edition of archival sources on Prussian censorship policy between the Carlsbad Decrees of 1819 and the March Revolution of 1848. It offers new insights into government action against the literary public at the central, regional, and local levels. New research questions are suggested in particular by the practice of in situ censorship.
