German description: Im ersten Band der Unterreihe Anglia Pontificia - Subsidia des Gottinger Papsturkundenwerkes Regesta Pontificum Romanorum werden die bis heute erhaltenen Briefe der Erzbischofe Lanfrank (a1089) und St. Anselm von Canterbury (a1109) sowie des Abtes von Gloucester und spateren Bischofs von Hereford und London, Gilbert Foliot (a 1188/89), ausgewertet. Alle darin enthaltenen Hinweise auf die Beziehungen dieser Erzbischofe und der Kirche Englands zum Papsttum am Ende des 11. und Anfang des 12. Jahrhunderts werden erschlossen (u.a. Pontifikate Alexanders II., Gregors VII., Urbans II. und Paschalis' II.) sowie in der 2. Halfte des 12. Jahrhunderts (u.a. Pontifikate Eugens III., Hadrians III. und Alexanders III.).
