Concern for rare species has been an important part of environmental activism since the first environmental movement began in the 19th century. Now, the protection of rare species is a part of the political goal to preserve biodiversity. This book discusses ethical issues connected with the protection of rare species from a virtue-ethical perspective. It explores the following two questions: What constitutes a good human life together with other species? How can this be realized?
