As cryptic fate has decided his life, suffering is all he endures. He believes still that fate would never give him what he craves for – a comfortable life, and unending peace and happiness.
Life is something he loved and enjoyed in the beginning, but sufferings begin soon enough after fate snatches his mother and brother; all he can feel now is the abyss of hopelessness. Life is not now really meaningful because it is what he hates. Unable to bear emotional and physical trauma, he resorts to attempting suicide before he realizes that he should exist for his only father.
At home, problems aggravate when his farther remarries, though his stepmom is kind; his father just can’t support both him and the second wife. Ultimately, he suffers.
In schools, his friends and seniors ignore and taunt him; people persecute him in the streets and town; back at home, life is so miserable. Even the teachers single out and ill-treat him – the poor boy has underprivileged education.
He falls in love too with damsels, despite his miserable life; he gets jilted, forcing him to seal his heart with the lock of conviction that girls are just after riches, because a femme-fatale had once dumped him after she knew of his pathetic existence.
Even now, after many years of the teaching profession, the same fate clings to him, making his life miserable. Though he is happily married, fate bestows him with an attractive boy but with a congenital disease, and the entire family lives on the dark side of the world.
The shadow of darkness follows him everywhere. Sitting on a rock, and gazing at the evening sun descending behind the mountains, he wonders how long he would have to go on with this prosaic life. Would there be a day when he would smile upwards and thank God for his beautiful life, before his death? Only God knows ….
