In a lifetime of work with farmers around the world, George Chan, the father of integrated farming, has developed an integrated theory for transforming "waste into wealth." The Integrated Farming and Waste Management System is based on a system of sustainable recycling wherein farming can exist with zero input and zero emissions. For the so-called Dream Farms, a sustainable cycle was developed using material and energy in different stages, such as raising chickens and using their waste as extra nutrients for the plants, effecting an increase in crop overall. Chan has been a pioneer in bio-farming, but his revolutionary model has been built on site-specific research and until now has remained largely unknown.
