Bella Figura: Europaische Bronzekunst in Suddeutschland um 1600

In circa 1600 the luxurious art of bronze sculpture was centered not only in Florence but also in Munich and Augsburg. Masterpieces of this genre adorned not only fountains, squares, monuments and façades but also the intimate collections of merchant princes and of the aristocracy. The Bayerisches Nationalmuseum now presents the magic of these works of art in a lavish catalogue.
