Simulation and Nonlinear Control of Anaerobic Digestion

Although used for quite some time, anaerobic practice still presents some problems, due to the high sensitivity of the process to operating conditions.

There is a clear need of a global stabilization and optimization of the process, which can be reached through an appropriate control system. In order to assess the performance of a control system with a limited set of experiments, it is possible to develop a model based process simulator, on which the potential regulating techniques can be inexpensively tested.
