The totalitarian state was not merely an episode in 20th century political thinking; he changed the history of political ideas in a remarkable way - this is the fundamental agreement of the thinkers introduced in this volume.. For many political theorists the experience of totalitarianism altered their understandings of politics, their professional career and the experience of friendship and collegiality. Presenting different sketches of the totalitarian state we show the understanding, paraphrasing and transferring of this theoretical figure in different academic disciplines - in political science, philosophy, economic science or history of science.
