The Buildings of the Jewish Community in Schwedt/Oder

70 years after their destruction, this book reconstructs the buildings of the Jewish community of Schwedt, a small city on the river Oder. Set against a background of 250 years of history, the many historic architects' plans and computer animations depicted in the book draw a lively picture of this vanished community. Based on structural records from the past hidden in a cellar in Berlin, this book reconstructs a relatively small community that has come to serve as an example of many of the destroyed Jewish communities in Germany.
