Dieter Mammel's paintings of the human figure are studies in awkwardnessembarrassingly private, improperly intimate. Here, in addition to reproductions of film stills and stage designs, Mammel also allows us a glimpse of his studios in Berlin and Frankfurt. The focus of Privacy is on the artist's recent Blueberry Cycle series, in which expressions of anguish are expressed through dissolves and distortions.
