This is Serge Clément's first major retrospective, including forty years of work. The title DéPaysÉ refers partly to the disorientation of one's living environment and in the mind. The universal cityscape surfaces as abstract multiple layers of asphalt, architecture, and streetlights. Like a journey into the heart of urban solitude and its periphery, Clément's work draws the viewer into an intimate relationship with the image. As the images accumulate, they create an imaginary density of timeless fragments.

Serge Clément has had solo exhibitions around the world and his works are found in many public and private collections in Canada and abroad.
