It uncovers the original form, intended by the composer, of a central musico-dramatic work of the repertoire and, for the first time, facilitates its interpretation according to the standards of the historical performance practice. Cherubini's 'Medee' is the work of a brilliant cosmopolitan in which influences of Italian, German and French traditions of the late 18th century are combined.
