Walk - Don't Walk

The photographs in this work capture the everyday events in New York City and form the basis of Jörg Extra’s work. Camera in hand, Extra meanders through the vibrant city’s streets, always in search of a new motif, from one corner to the next, for hours and days. The images project a pristine directness, however, the painting is not a mere copy of the photographs, but the art is rather to inspire the imagination.
