Despite the numerous awards he has received and his presence in important collections such as the Staatliche Kunstsammlung Dresden, the Nationalgalerie Berlin, the Kunstmuseum Basel, and the Centre Pompidou in Paris, Johannes Grutzke (* 1937) is something of an insider tip – who is in the process of being discovered by the wider public. He has attracted widespread attention with the first comprehensive overview of his pictorial and literary performance work at the Germanisches Nationalmuseum in Nuremberg.
