The safety of the products used by us in daily life is a concern to all of us. These products include textiles, toys, sports equipment, domestic appliances, electrical appliances and devices, furniture but also machines and protective equipment. The safety of these products for everyday use is the protective goal of this European Directive, which was implemented several years ago. “Safe product” means a product that does not contain any or only minimal risks to the health or safety of persons under normal or reasonably foreseeable use.
This Directive applies regardless of the form of marketing, including distance selling and electronic business traffic. This Directive applies to release both in return for payment and free of charge. It also applies to products designed exclusively for the commercial sector but which could subsequently also enter the consumer market.
