DIRECTIVE 1999/45/EC OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL: dangerous preparations directive -DPD

of 31 May 1999 concerning the approximation of the laws, regulations and administrative provisions of the Member States relating to the classification, packaging and labelling of dangerous preparations.
Differences and anomalies in the classification, packaging and labelling of hazardous preparations constitute barriers to trade and competitive disadvantages. This regulation is intended to eliminate these differences.
As regards the protection of the health and safety of humans and the environment, this Regulation is based on a high level of protection. Both the public and people who come into contact with hazardous preparations in the course of their work or during a leisure activity should be protected.
