REGULATION (EC) No 1107/2009 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL: plant protection regulation

of 21 October 2009 concerning the placing of plant protection products on the market and repealing Council Directives 79/117/EEC and 91/414/EEC.
This European Regulation on the marketing of plant protection products governs the testing and authorisation of plant protection products and their active ingredients, as well as the question of parallel imports, and defines the framework conditions for inspections and record-keeping obligations.
This Regulation governs the authorisation of plant protection products uniformly throughout the European Union. This should establish a high level of protection for consumers, users and the environment. Harmonisation of assessment and authorisation and the mutual recognition of plant protection products is guaranteed.
