White Album

The colors of snow - Bernd Uhde's search for traces in landscapes of Silence. An impressionistic shimmer of dark smears on backgrounds of bright expanse. Patterns of scattered marks and feathery plexus on white ground. A frame in white, in which a white plane expands like an empty canvas. On closer inspection, the abstractions fill with concrete details: birds have left delicate prints on a snow field, condense into swirling sheets in a white realm.
