Prisoner Camps in Thuringia 1914-1918: Langensalza, Ohrdruf, Erfurt and Bad Colberg

In the prisoner camps in Erfurt and Ohrdruf lived and worked circa 15,000 prisoners. In the small camp in Langensalza circa 28,000 prisoners were accommodated from the 20 November 1914 to the 18 March 1919. This book explains the construction and the organization of the camp as well as the care of the prisoners. Three eyewitness accounts from the years 1915 and 1918 give a deep insight into the everyday life from the point of view of a visitor and the prisoners.
