I am growing out my bangs

This is the first painting collection of Yasumasa Yonehara, who expresses the Tokyo girls' street culture using a mini instant Polaroid camera, "Cheki." Though he has long been known for his street fashion photos, this collection features his fine art works which combine fashion portraits with acrylic paints. Under the theme "Growing bangs is a rebellion," Yonehara attached the girls' portraits to canvas and covered their faces with bangs in acrylic paints. Those rough and blur painting textures can even be a devastating antithesis to today's digital photography techniques. Furthermore, his erotic and cute taste of colors adds unique elements to the photos and makes his works an exclusive pop art.
