Colubrinae

It includes numerous genera, and taxonomic sources often disagree on the exact number. It is the largest subfamily of colubrids, and many of the most commonly known snakes are members of this subfamily, including, but not limited to: rat snakes, king snakes, milk snakes, vine snakes and indigo snakes.Snakes are elongate, legless, carnivorous reptiles of the suborder Serpentes that can be distinguished from legless lizards by their lack of eyelids and external ears.
