Micklehurst Railway Station served the village of Micklehurst in Tameside until closure in 1907. It was built by the London and North Western Railway on its Micklehurst Line. The station building on the up side are still standing and are used as a private residence. Mossley is a small town and civil parish within the Metropolitan Borough of Tameside, in Greater Manchester, England. The town is located in the upper section of the Tame valley in the foothills of the Pennines, 3 miles (4.8 km) northeast of Ashton-under-Lyne and 8.9 miles (14.3 km) east of Manchester.
