Originally launched on October 21, 2008, Webroot Internet Security Essentials is the first consumer security suite from Webroot. The most recent version of the product was released on July 27, 2010.The first version of the product included traditional antivirus and antispyware malware detection and removal. Additional features included 2GB of free online storage, a cleanup utility and a two way firewall. The original product featured a three column layout that was noted as being simple to use but with an extensive feature set. No significant changes were made to the product between the 2009 and 2010 versions.
