Viridor is a waste management company in the United Kingdom, owned by Pennon Group, a FTSE 250 based plc focused on the water and waste management industries. Viridor was formed in 1993, by purchasing companies in the landfill market. As part of an acquisition trail that today has generated a business valued at £1.5Bn, they acquired part of Churngold's waste business in June 2003, and Somerset LAWDC Wyvern Waste in 2006.
