The population was 570 at the 2000 census.According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 35.4 square miles (91.7 km²), of which, 35.0 square miles (90.6 km²) of it is land and 0.4 square miles (1.1 km²) of it (1.24%) is water.As of the census of 2000, there were 570 people, 208 households, and 159 families residing in the township. The population density was 16.3 people per square mile (6.3/km²). There were 259 housing units at an average density of 7.4/sq mi (2.9/km²). The racial makeup of the township was 99.12% White, 0.35% Native American, 0.53% from other races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.88% of the population.
