The Concise Edition of General History of China

The book describes the historical facts by dynastic order, chronicles the Chinese history by dividing it into several periods: 1. from the birth of Chinese civilization to the Warring States period; 2. the two periods including the first one: from Qin Shi Huang’s (the first emperor of Qin Dynasty) war of unification China, to the Peasant uprising in the last years of The Eastern Han Dynasty. And the second one: from the co-existence of the Three Kingdoms (Wei, Shu, and Wu) to the end of the age of Northern and Southern Dynasties; 3. the three hundred years from the unification of Sui Dynasty to the fall of Later Zhou; 4. several dynasties between the unification of Song Dynasty to the fall of Yuan Dynasty; 5. from the foundation of Ming Dynasty to the flourishing age of Kangxi to Qianlong, from when the Chinese empire began to go downhill; 6. the history of China being a Semi-colony and Semi-feudal society from the First Opium War to the sign of Boxer Protocol.
