Hard Earned Money

The Jataka Tales are a collection of stories from the Buddha’s previous life. The stories are simple yet deal with life’s deep truths. The Jataka Tales were written to instil and maintain moral values in society and they continue to play this role even today. The hard-working water carrier manages to save a single paisa and hides this treasure in a safe place. His quest to retrieve it rather surprisingly leads to the king's court. This chance encounter makes the water carrier a rich man but more importantly teaches the king the value of hard earned money.
