Governance and the Governor

The role of a Governor in the making and unmaking of governments is a widely discussed subject. However, there are many important areas in the governance of the state, such as rules of business, administration of scheduled areas, and Governor as chancellor of the universities, which have not been adequately discussed. The founding fathers of the Indian Constitution helped provide for the useful institution of a Governor. The central focus of this book is a Governor's role in India for maintaining the unitary character of the Indian Republic. The book includes the diverse views of academics, bureaucrats, and politicians regarding the institution of Governor.
