Growth of Literature and Measures of Scientific Productivity: Scientometric Models

This is the text of the 27th Sarada Ranganathan Endowment Lectures delivered in December 2008 by Dr. I.K. Ravichandra Rao, Professor and Head of Documentation Research and Training Center, Indian Statistical Institute, in Bangalore, India. The lectures cover two types of library and information science indicators - quantitative and qualitative. The lectures include different growth models applicable to the growth of literature, indicators related to scientific productivity of scientists, and issues in scientometrics.
