South-South Collaboration in Health Biotechnology: Growing Partnerships Amongst Developing Countries

An analysis of collaboration among developing countries, this book disseminates the results from a large-scale project on health biotechnology collaboration led by the University of Toronto, which involved research groups based in Brazil, Canada, China, Egypt, India, and Zambia. Concerned specifically with health-related collaboration, this collection of scholarship from a host of expert contributors focuses not only on partnerships between lower-income developing countries such as Bangladesh, but also on biotechnology collaborations in emerging economies such as China and India. Also explored are the emerging alliances among public-sector institutions as well as among corporate firms.
