'You'll make a mess,' is all that eleven-year-old Ganga hears from her mother and sister. The sister is getting married, and the entire womenfolk of Jitwarpur is in the kohbar, the wedding chamber, decorating the walls.
Ganga longs to be there too.
But she is always in the way.
Ganga is sent out on errands by her mother to keep her out of trouble. So when the wedding hansuli (neck ornament) goes missing, Ganga has a perfect chance to prove that she's not always a good for nothing. Does she find the missing necklace?
