Theology for Dummies

Most of us are dependent upon the majesty of King James English
for understanding our faith. Furthermore, being neither Bible
scholars nor English majors, we are hesitant to use contemporary
patterns of speech to express that faith. On the other hand, when we
speak about God, grace, or salvation in traditional ways, we are
equally unsure what images flash upon the screen of today's mind.
If only we had a firm grip on biblical meaning we could innovate,
recruiting words and phrases familiar to the modern intellect, as
New Testament writers did. This book is written for those willing to leave their present comfort
zone. With the reader we go back to basics, going over words and
phrases that appear in theological discourse, giving Greek origins,
defining them, and finally showing their significance for the
Christian life.
