Animals have long been a source of inspiration in the worlds of design and decorative arts. Whether a classic leopard print, or a stylised sculpture, animals provide a rich and vibrant focus for design projects. In the modern era, the contrast between the raw, natural animal world and contemporary design has provided particularly interesting juxtapositions. It may be our way of showing respect to these creatures, or even a way of exerting our control.
