This detective story, one in which they solve early on, is also a novel about human relationships and how they disappear and reappear throughout our lives. Jaime just killed two people — or perhaps he didn’t —while in a doomed relationship. He lives in panic and fear, and eventually discovers what happened to the love of his life.
