Tumulto

Tumulto is both a memoir and a look at the political and social movements that shook the world in the sixties and seventies. From a deliberately ambiguous perspective, Enzensberger subtly combines the story of his experience in the Soviet Union and his stay in Cuba during the early years of the Castro revolution. Enzenberger merges with the landscape and does not give up his observer status. This book is constructed not solely from his personal memories, but on what actually occurred.
