The Sumerians: EARLY ASIA I

History begins with the Sumerians. 5,000 years ago they invented writing and established a flourishing civilization on the confluence of the Rivers Euphrates and Tigris, which today is Iraq. Fundamental inventions and developments such as the wheel or Law are attributed to them and the first known empire was also created on their territory.
