The Persian Empire: EARLY ASIA IV

Situated on the plains of what is today Iran, the Medes and Persians developed more slowly than their Mesopotamic neighbors. This did not prevent both peoples, united under the same emperor, from conquering Babylonia, Egypt and the ancient empires of the Near East, or even resisting the Greek Civilisation.
