The Golden Age: SPAIN III

Spain's territorial and political decline coincided, paradoxically, with a rebirth in arts, which has been called the 'Golden Age'. Quevedo, Velázquez, Calderón de la Barca or Lope de Vega are just a few of the geniuses who lived at the time of the fall of the empire of the Habsburgs, (Philip III, Philip IV and Charles II).
