Coalitions and Policy Coordination: Revision and Impact of the European Employment Strategy

In the mid-1990, the EU's member states decided to coordinate their national employment policies through a common European Employment Strategy (EES). This book examines the current state of that strategy. The first part of the book concentrates on the continuous development of the strategy at European level with particular focus on coalition-building and ongoing power struggles between the European institutions, the member states, and other key stakeholders during the development of the EES.
