This is the facsimile edition of the first half-volume of the second part of William Thalbitzer's seminal and pioneering ethnographic study of the native tribes living in and around the Ammassalik area on the east coast of Greenland around the turn of the 20th century. His expansive study was the first ethnological or ethnographical description of any eastern Greenlandic people and has gone down in history as a classic within its field.
